The leaders of the three Local Authorities (Adur District Council, West Sussex County Council and Brighton & Hove City Council) meet regularly to provide a strategic steer to the Regeneration Project. The officer working group driving the project is the Project Board on which all partners are represented. The local authorities are represented by economic development and planning officers. Transport Officers from Brighton & Hove and West Sussex also sit on the Board representing the two local Highway Authorities. The Project Board has been meeting on a monthly basis for over two years. Work is also on-going to consider options for the type of delivery vehicle needed to implement and deliver the project.
Other specialist sub-groups sit under the Project Board to address critical issues to the delivery of the project as and when required. The partners are represented on these subgroups as well as additional specialists when required.
The governance arrangements are continuously under review to ensure efficiency of resources, accountability, and to reflect recent changes in planning and political contexts.
The partners are investigating funding streams to deliver regeneration to tackle the main challenges that face the area and to deliver the regeneration vision. In particularly, Eco-town and Growth Point funding are the two main funding streams being utilised. The funding that has been received / investigated is summarised below:
